Lifeguard Recertification

To enroll in the Lifeguarding Recertification course you must have a current, valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification, or a certification that is no more than 30 days expired by the start of the course. After the 30 day grace period participants must retake a full Lifeguarding Course.

Participants must adequately demonstrate all required skills and show a professional attitude throughout the course in order to be successful. Per Red Cross guidelines, the instructor may mark any participant as unsuccessful if they feel that the participant cannot complete the required skills to meet the objective, or the participants attitude is not in line with the duties expected of a lifeguard.

A passing grade of 80% or higher is required on the final written test.

Participants should notify the instructor prior to the start of the course if they have any injuries or learning disabilities that may require accommodations. Modifications cannot be made to any of the skills or coursework per the American Red Cross.
